Moving From /.

October 23rd, 2004 asv

After a few years of posting on my Slashdot Journal , I’ve decided to join the masses and have my own blog. In the end, the deciding factors were:

  • No reponse to any feature requests
  • Lack of RSS
  • Lack of Control
  • Non-customizable Look and Feel

I will continue to cross post on my slashdot journal for a bit, and I’m looking in to feasibility of writing a wordpress plugin for /. cross posting, but an early peek tells me its going to be a lot harder than I originally thought.

While I think that the friend/enemy system at /. was a stoke of genius, the less time I read that site, the more time I spend away from crazy people (it does link to good stories, though the odd crackpot scifi story does creep).

Let me second your welcome to the blogsphere!
